Port Forwarding Airtel UT-304R2 IPTV MODEM
As this site is all about Counter Strike and We Counter Strike Server Admin know how important it is to get the Port Forwarding Done in correct manner in the Router/Modem.Infact Port forwarding is not only essential for Counter strike server but also other services like torrent and Website hosting and many others.
So recently i’ purchased IPTV service installed from Airtel and ever since the modem got replaced with some heavy looking Black Router UT Start Com Model No. UT 304R2 i was very Unhappy coz now i couldnot get my counter strike server working and similarly torrents we re too slow. Airtel guy replaced the original firmware with some customised firmware into it which started all this portforwarding trouble. I tried best of my knowledge to get the ports forwarded but all in vain.Today accidently i happen to make some settings in the modem and little did i know to it will lead me to port forward the modem.
Ok Lets see how Port Forwarding is done on Airtel UT 304R2 IPTV Modem.
Steps:
1. Open Internet explorer and type or click here http://192.168.1.1/main.html
2.Enter Username as “admin” and Password as “password” unless you’ve changed it. if this doesn’t work try password as “utstar” or “utstartcom“, ofcourse without quotes.
3.Look on left hand side of te page and click “Advanced Setup” and then click “NAT” and then Click “DMZ Host”
4.In DMZ Host option put your LAN ip address which should be something like 192.168.1.XXX and XXX could be range from 2 to 255. To find out the XXX value go to Start —> Run —> type cmd —>
in command window type —>ipconfig —->192.168.1.XXX. This will show that XXX value which you will have to put in “DMZ Host” option.
5.Save/Apply it and Then Click Management (Tab on left) and Select last option “Save and Reboot”
6.Click the Save/Reboot and let the modem restart and remember ”Dont close the internet explorer” till 2 minutes.
7. Its all Done and Enjoy.
Tip: Never take Airtel IPTV service as it sucks and more over its a very bad idea to bind all three services to a single medium. If it goes bad then all three are affected. The three i mean “Landline” , “Internet” ,”IPTV”. It is always good to have separated dedicated serivice for all.Stick to TATA Sky, its relieble. Just my two cents.
